NextGen Art Party | UNICEF

Lindsay Meggers, a friend as well as a talented photographer with a refreshing eye, and I discovered a shared interest in art and philanthropy when we talked about Pure Drift. No surprise then when Lindsay reached out to share news of her current role on the Art Party Committee for UNICEF Next Generation (NextGen).

In brief, NextGen is a group of young leaders, entrepreneurs, and innovators who commit their resources, resolve, and enthusiasm to support UNICEF’s lifesaving work. Members study issues that affect children around the world and choose projects to support through education, advocacy, skill sharing, remote volunteering, and fundraising. In Los Angeles, the fundraiser takes the form of an Art Party.

The Art Party provides an opportunity for emerging and established artists to gain exposure and build relationships with young collectors in LA. The curatorial team includes artist and designer Carlton DeWoody, Jamie G. Manné, Chelsea Neman Nassib of TAPPAN, and Jessica Witkin of Moran Bondaroff Gallery. Art will be priced between $100‐$500, with the exception of a few rare works for silent auction. The target demographic for this event is the next generation of LA’s philanthropists, art collectors, and artists.

More than 600 artists from around the world have generously donated their works for previous Art Parties, averaging around 800 guests in attendance each year.
